Sorry for the lack of posts over the last month, but we are just back from the most brilliant adventure in Sri Lanka. Whilst the holiday was creatively inspirational, there were no hats directly involved (much to Simon's relief he felt he needed a rest from hats)
However here's the new trilby I finished for our holiday and took with me on the trip, pictured at our first stop - Jim's Farm - having a trip out around their organic farm, and yes I did try my hand at milking! Not only does the Farm have their own Spice Garden, grow their own organic veggies, the staff buzz around the plantation on tuktuks helpfully offering you a lift to the hill top pool. My hat, a straw trilby with wide vintage tonal petersham hat band, was truly in seventh hat heaven!
The wonder of it is that I took my trusty trilby half way across the world with me and didn't loose it or forget it somewhere en-route. It has successfully explored the southern half of Sri Lanka.
You can read more of the travels of my trusty trilby in the travel blog I am writing called I'm Gonna Be...., here's the link - http://margaretwoodliff.blogspot.co.uk
My trusty trilby will be making a special appearance on the catwalk at this year's HospiceCare Northumberland Fashion Show on March 31st, along with "An English Country Garden" which has just come back from MIMC, in Melbourne, and after a starring role at the fashion show is jetting off to Nebraska.
It was Home Sweet Home on Monday this week, after a truly great holiday. My trusty trilby is a little less blue than he was, I think, than when he left the the UK for its holidays, perhaps I should have plied him with some sunscreen! It worked for me!
