Making Headway Catwalk Shows Announced!

by Margaret Woodliff | April 05, 2014 | 0 Comments

Making Headway, jointly funded by the Arts Council, the Mary Portas high street initiative & those far sighted people at Stockport Council, is a directional Creative Professional Development project, based at the National Hat Museum, Stockport, Manchester.
By inspiring and enabling the creation of new & contemporary millinery collections, the project aims to enhance both the profile of Stockport's museums and its heritage, and that of the milliners involved.

With an international selection process, competition to gain a place on Making Headway was fierce, and as one of the thirteen "best emerging millinery talents" selected I feel very privileged to be included in the project - I am delighted by the opportunity this project offers me to progress my professional development as a milliner..

My S/S 14 collection for Making Headway will be showcased on the catwalk show on Saturday 17th May, and will subsequently on display (and available for sale) at the National Hat Museum, Stockport. The collection will take as its inspiration the drawings & paintings of the centre of Stockport by LS Lowry - along with the heritage collections of the Stockport Museums.

Please join us on May 17th if you can!
